I support this 100%. My kids rush through their works just to get IPAD time in the classrooms. It's not helping them to learn but rather distracting them from learning.

No iPads. The technology is on overdrive and they don’t need this for optimal brain development.

Please please please remove iPads from our schools. They are a distraction and an unintentional encouragement for kids to spend even more time online.

Have been poorly implemented from the start. All on the backs of Apple who want to hook these kids as consumers for life—not educate.

There is no real learning benefit from the iPads. I cannot for the life of me understand why they are used so heavily.

All of the children in EISD have ample opportunities to learn about technology at home. There is no need for the IPAD at the elementary level. I believe the ipads should be removed from the classroom, and only used during a specific "computer lab" like session.

I believe that children at every grade level should have specified time access to computers (iPads are not even meeting that criteria) to learn computer skills. Tests on iPads, iPads instead of text books are making education more difficult for many children. For those agr groups bringing home iPads and having to use them during all waking hours, the screen time, addictive behaviors to the iPad and access to inappropriate content is overwhelming. The studies have shown this is bad for our kids yet we continue to force children to use them in school. Help us to provide the right balance for our children!

I don’t mind iPads being used periodically in the classroom (for research, etc.), but their use has become more prevalent and needs to be limited to specific tasks.

My children race through their work, in order to be "rewarded" with time to "play on their ipads". I would like to see iPad's (LEAP) suspended at the elementary level. I would like my children to stop using iPads in their classrooms.

I believe there could be a direct connection between the implementation of iPads(k-5th grades)and the rising need for children to have extra intervention help during the school day.

I could not agree more! So many times I've walked into a classroom to see children zoned out on iPads playing mindless games. There so many other rich ways to engage our children during down times that do not require a screen. Plus, technology is ever evolving and what they "learn" on the iPad will be soon obsolete. Thank you Meaghan and Mark for caring enough to spearhead this movement!

I would like to see the option for parents to opt out of iPad classrooms at the elementary level and have a separate lab with computers and additional STEM options as a weekly special.

I like the iPads, but if they can’t be used responsibly or have the necessary filters, they need to be removed.
