I am currently going through benzodiazepine (xanax)withdrawal. I am having severe multiple symptoms. Doctors do not want to listen or believe their patients. This is so very sad and scary. My life as I knew it before xanax is over. Severe, debilitating symptoms.

Hi I spent approximately 12 years on Effexor (venlofaxine) It has been 14 months since I last took one after taking a year to stop taking them. I still have withdrawal to this day and at present have been seeing a counsellor. Big issues with anger and other emotions, how long does it take to be normal again. Good Luck. Jackie.

Hi, my name is Amanda Carte. My life was ruined in 2012 due be Xanax for panic attacks by my a psych Doctor. After being on the medication for 2 years it no longer worked, and I began to spiral downward into a world of horrible constant anxiety, depression, and constant insomnia. When I called my Doctor to complain She jerked me off the medicine and told me she could no longer be my doctor. I then began to withdraw and it was aweful. I noticed involuntary movement in my left arm, then my left side of my body began jerking uncontrollably like a tick, a few mos. later I began to have full blown seizures, extreme depression and constant anxiety. I lost my job, my home in a foreclosure, my car, and was homeless for a year. I ended up in a psych ward and on tons of meds trying to get back to normal. It's been years and to this day I'm still in the same dilemma. I can't work, get out of bed, shower on a daily basis, brush my teeth daily, leave the house, I live with my mother now. I can't have a successful relationship, and I'm full blown epileptic now. My life is over, and I'm only 34 and was 29 when this happened. I've been denied disability. I'm a welfare case, and I've never recovered, and I can't take care of myself. My life is literally ruined due to this drug, and no one seems to be able to help me. I know several other people in the same boat as myself. My doctor never warned me of any side effects, and def didn't tell me I'd be disabled and loose my entire life by taking it. I feel that a huge injustice occurred but can't find help. Can you refer me to anyone in the United States that can help me? Please I'm desperate, and fear for my future. If something doesn't change I will end up homeless again and on the streets to live the remainder of my horrid existence, so please please help me fight this so I can at least get compensation to take care of myself.
Sincerely,
Amanda Carte

I was on xanax for 15 straight years most of that @6mgs. a day. Then I was told my doctor decided to practice in another state. Nothing was given to help me detox other than the words find some other doctor to write you for your Xanax prescription. Although they did help with the anxiety and panic attacks I don't think that's a long-term medication and some of the negative Health side effects were not worth the risk. I did not even realize how bad it was until I got off of them and now I feel life again. If there are any class action lawsuits I would love to know because I would definitely be a good candidate for it. I probably couldn't get a prescription for Xanax to save my life if I wanted and thought I was going to die going through the withdrawal process which I heard you actually can die from it took a very long time and I still don't sleep much sometimes I am up for a couple days and I'll crash for about 4 hours maybe on the third day than the whole cycle repeats and I'm up for a few more days and I don't know if it's from 15 years of Xanax use and a cold turkey detox or 17 years of continuous methadone treatment and a detox from that. Although I did get better from the methadone detox before I started at Xanax detox I waited a couple of months but it's still not the same. My life is not the same before the prescriptions for those two and what's worse is I was prescribed Xanax at a methadone clinic and no they won't rape you a benzo on top of an opiate because it could kill you but the state was mailing my Xanax to a methadone clinic so I don't know how that even works but definitely would be a good candidate for a class action lawsuit.

My name is Heather Tice from Aiken SC. I was prescribed celexa earlier this year for anxiety. I lived a normal life, had my own home, full time job, and full custody of my three young daughters. I have since lost my children and my home due to being diagnosed with tardive dyskenesia brought on by the celexa. And also am currently fighting for my job. I am seeing extensive doctors and soon a neurologist in order to try to be normal again so I can regain my children and my life. Any advice or assistance would be of great help. Thanks and best regards.

My only son committed suicide on October 26, 2012. He had just turned 45 years old and had recently had hernia surgery with complications. He lived in FL and I
live in AZ so I didn't have as constant
a relationship as I wished and now I have problems with guilt that I wasn't physically closer to him. He began acting strangely and verbally attacking me the last couple of years when we were together, but we were better by phone....he didn't call me Mom anymore, but called me Mommy...strange and sometimes nasty behavior...he had one overdose a few weeks before he committed suicide....his death certificate lists it as a suicide and overdose of Lorazepam.

These medications have caused irreparable damage to our bodies, minds & souls. They have torn families apart & forced others to live in a decent of destruction that can lead to homelessness loss of love, support & finally our lives. Our children have suffered immensely. The biggest problem we face is no understanding & no help from the medical community that helped put us in this Dante's Spiral into hell. There needs to be mandatory education for health care providers & financial reparations to us...those that have lost the ability to care for ourselves & others. I still have hope of becoming a viable person on this earth. One that can truly be of service.

I have been taking SSRIs, from Prozac, Lexapro, Celexa, Remeron, Wellbutrin, Effexor, and tried Cymbalta, for 30 years. I have had many suicide attempts and hospitalized for four major attempts. I now have heart damage, an Incomplete Right Branch Block, because of these medications. I can't go off of the medication. I have memory problems, missed work, digestion problems, and just about every side effect mentioned. These medications are awful.
