Disabled by effexor. Horrific withdrawal. 5 years later, never recovered. Lost my job.

After nearly two months of cessation of Celexa, the horrible side effects (particularly the brain "zaps") are still affecting my life in very negative ways.

Prozac and Effexor have ruined my life. I had severe sexual side effects with Prozac and switched to Wellbutrin and then Effexor, but the side effects never improved. 20 years later, I am stuck in anhedonia and am asexual, even after four years of tapering off. My adulthood was ruined by these drugs and at 54, I have little hope of ever enjoying or wanting sex again, as well as enjoying life at all. I have lost all pleasure in doing things I used to enjoy.

My 27 year old son has been in the med battle for 8 years and cant go off. He is worst today than when he started with depression and the ssri made him manic starting this nightmare . They make him worst in every hospitalization from adverse reactions n side effects to high doses n combinations. They never listen or believe the side effects .

My husband was prescribed Effexor in 2016. He started to show signs of mania and his psychiatrist told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Then he was hospitalized in 2017 for Bipolar. He has had seven hospitalizations this year from BP. After his first hospitalization the same Psychiatrist apologized to him for having caused his mania by prescribing the meds. Help!

Ban them please , they are horrible . Especially long-term, it's criminal the dangers being covered up. People are only protecting them because they are on them and haven't had the damage accumulated yet so they don't believe it exists , especially when moron Dr's think the same.. Awful awful scandal

Live in Australia. Doctors here don't believe anything about withdrawals. I am doing my own research now. I have had serotonin syndrome, on going serotonin problems, tardive dyskenesia, involuntary movements. Etc etc Doctors say it's somatic and I am suffering anxiety. What a lot of BS.

My daughter has been on prozac and practically eveey single psych drug there is including seroquel. None have worked as she is treatment resistant ie a poor/non metaboliser of the drugs and prone to adverse reactions. The p450 liver enzyme tests confirmed this fact. The drugs should never have been given to her in the first place.

I took Lexapro for awhile and it did nothing but make me feel edgy and stressed and now my Anhedonia and major depression disorder are way worse than before

Memory retention has dropped so low I almost have to constantly make notes on things I plan on doing that day, and that's. Just a small daily example.

I was given long term abuse and lack of informed consent from being prescribed antidepressants, antipsychotics and Gabapentenoids for my OCD and Tourette’s Syndrome with no informed consent of the permanent harms they would give me. One of those permanent harms caused permanent impotence my whole adult life despite not taking these prescriptions for almost 10 years. The leaflets or mental health services both child and adult never mention permanent sexual dysfunction (Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction) from the medications they gave me long term for my mental health disabilities.

Decreased feeling, drive. Prozac undoubtedly caused me epigenetic change.
