I had a similar problem. We booked a hotel and it was a smoking room, which I didn’t even think existed anymore. Same thing, they hid that “feature” behind the hot rate and my wife nearly had an asthma attack.

They are part of Expedia . I have had trouble with other Expedia companies, they all need to be stopped

Took 170 dollars for a service I never got and told me too bad...it's a no cancelation dispite that fact we can't do buisness with you but we accept payment from debit cards ...but you can't rent with the card you pay online with...nonsense ..I paid and got nothing not even a partial refund

Hotwire need to be held accountable for their shark business practices. Hire and paid for a car only to be told that my booking was not available and gave me another more expensive option.

I've had this happen to me. Also I've been charged by hotwire and the hotel for the same date several times; of which, the rate these hotels charged was much less.

They have refused to issue refunds due to covid delays and shut downs! I’m sure they held their hands out for the business relief funds!

They are the worst. Put Internet wires in my bedroom that smell and are making me sick. They came out and told me i needed electrical outlet and did not tell me in advance. After 80 phone calls they sent someone who said they could have put the wires and boxes in the closet, but could come back and do it. They never called and never came back. They are a terrible company with one call center and that is it. They should have their license revoked to do business

Refusing to credit or refund car rental during covid for trip to Florida. Although it was a hotdeal rate, they claim sixth car rental responsible but since they wont change their policy they cannot refund money. Sixth car rental claims in an email to us hotwire was responsible because we booked through them. It is not our fault we could not travel to Florida from Illinois. We were told it was decision of Florida Governor Santis and not us. Why should we be penalized and our money taken because of covid. Policy or not, an honest company would try to rectify the issue and work something out with the customer in good faith. They are stealing thousands and thousands of dollars from consumers and they are getting away with it. They do not care. Not the type of company that should be allowed to be licensed or allowed to deal with consumers in the United States because of their unfair practices.

I would have had no problem taking a credit to use after the pandemic but instead they stole my money like many others on this site. Shameful way to conduct business.

I got a hotel with an additional $60/day parking fee as part of a "hotdeal" - no information about this before "agreeing" to the Hotdeal. I switched the reservation and then COVID happened and the hotel that I switched to is closed until further notice due to the pandemic. Hotwire refuses to give me my money back. They acted in bad faith throughout this whole process.

Hotwire is a deceptive company. My flight were cancelled by the airline I showed Hotwire proof and they refused to make any changes to my car rental booking and claims it’s the rental car agency refusing to make any change. Contrary I have an email from the rental car agency that disproves what it wire is claiming and the rental agency want to accomdate my change because it’s not my fault. Deception and this company should be Shut down and class action lawsuit might just make this happen
