I made a reservation via Hotwire paid for the stay and went to the the Pontchartrain hotel in New Orleans. The room would not have worked and i requested the room to be cancelled. I spoke with the customer rep at the checkin desk on 6/8/24 at around 4pm. I asked if i could cancel the reservation and if the money will be refunded. She informed me that the money will be refunded and so I went ahead and cancelled the reservation. I found an alternative hotel. The money was never refunded and the hotel is refusing to refund the money. 1. The hotel manager on pontchartrain hotel is refusing to refund the money as promised by their front desk representative, checking in that evening. 2. The hotel manager refused to let me speak with the representative I spoke with who has cancelled the reservation and promised me the money will be refunded. 3. Hotwire customer service department is refusing to give me in writing, why the hotel reservation was cancelled and what they have received as response from the hotel as to why the reservation was cancelled. 4. The hotel manager is referencing their policy of not refunding. If that is the policy, their representative should not have promised a refund. 5. Above behavior raises concerns of verbally deceiving customers and then not refunding the money quoting policies. 6. If that is the policy, the hotel should not have cancelled the reservation without my written permission. 7. I ask for the money to be refunded. Penalize them for verbal deceit. I for sure ask for written explanation from hotel and hotwire. Until proven otherwise I would find the hotel running a scam and hotwire an accomplice in the scam.

I purchased a 4 star HotDeals hotel on Hotwire only to find out the hotel room on the hotel’s website was half the price. When we get checked in we place our bags in the room and immediately leave to go to dinner. When we get back, I notice how disgusting the room is and the hotel in now way was a 4 star hotel. It was so gross! Tried to contact Hotwire about the price with their lowest price guarantee and to notify them about the nastiness of the room and hotel with no resolution

I was on the phone with 4 different agents each insisted that I was consulting the wrong department. Kept putting me on hold then after four hours the phone just hung up. I booked a flight with them back in July of 2020 when the pandemic first hit. Had to cancel over the uncertainty of flights and regulations at that time. I recently received an email saying my credit with the airlines was about to expire, I asked for the money to be returned to my card but they passed the buck to the airlines but the airlines insist my issue is with Hotwire.

Hidden fees, doesn't show the hotrate to prove the charge. You don't know about the hidden charges until after you book. They gave me the steps to follow to get a refund for one night's stay, then all of a sudden they couldn't find the information. I have recordings and chat scripts. Utterly disgusting. I will help in any way I can.

I prepaid a special offer to have a rental available upon arrival to Orlando. Only after payment did they indicate the agency was off site and had a bunch of additional hidden charges. Southwest changed our flight times and we arrived a few hours earlier than originally scheduled and they refused to help us with our needs even though we called days before departure. Upon arrival the agent was irate at NU car rental causing us to decline our reservation. They refused to refund over $600 paid when no rental was obtained. I spent hours sending in documentation and chatting with representatives to no avail. They are stealing peoples money without even delivering the service. They should be shut down.

I paid $297.76 and was refused the rental at ACE because I was planning to drive from CA to Utah. We were left without a vehicle and a member of our party was pregnant. Hotwire has refused to refund my money. The "Hotrate" method of renting a car does not clearly inform the consumer that he or she is effectively gambling. Only after agreeing to the lowest price offered on the Hotwire.com website, which invariably is this "Hotrate" offer, and only after making the payment, is it revealed what car rental agency will be providing the vehicle. This means that the consumer does not even know with whom they are actually making a contract, and without the identity clearly stated of all parties, there is no valid contract. This is the key point because, as here, it was only after making the payment that it was revealed that ACE Car Rental was the agency and that their policy was not to allow locals a rental of over 100 miles without paying $.40/mile extra. We may have nevertheless agreed to pay this amount if necessary because it was already so late on a Saturday night that we did not believe we could find another rental. However, when we were asked to where we were driving, we were outright refused the rental because we would be driving to Bryce Canyon in Utah. I have been renting cars in California for 35 years for business and pleasure, and I have never had such limitations imposed, so I therefore never even contemplated this possibility. I understand that this is related to Covid-19 concerns, and I also understand that a business can set whatever terms it wants, but if new and totally unexpected terms are to be imposed, it is only fair that the consumer be provided a reasonable opportunity to withdraw their acceptance of egregious contract terms (paying something for nothing). I SUPPOSE I SHOULD JUST BE GRATEFUL THAT, ONCE THE PARTICULAR RENTAL AGENCY WAS REVEALED, THAT I DID NOT DISCOVER THERE IS AN EXTRA $1000 CHARGE IF I DO NOT QUALIFY. ACE, or any other
Bad faith
