Great organization! Have never driven at an event but have rode with many of the drivers and it's hard to get the space needed. The guys would clean up after themselves and in general could bring entertainment to the whole city.

I've been to rmdc three times last year. It is a fun venue, but very limited. Having the occasional use of the airstrip would massively increase the appeal. Every time I go to rmdc, I buy fuel, lunch, and second lunch. Every time I went last year, I saw more spectators.

Allowing a safe environment off the streets for car enthusiasts to share their passion of driving should be a great community initiative.

Grassroots drift events are slowly dying in North America, recent this year the drifting community has lost with the closing of Irwindale Speedway in California and Midwest Drift Union events https://mdudrift.com/. It would be sad to lose another event in the community, RMDC is one of the only events in Southern Alberta where people can enjoy the motorsport of drifting legally ever since the closing of Race City. The loss of a venue to hold these events would mean the encouragement of some individuals into doing dangerous activities on the public roads and causing trouble with law enforcement. I have a feeling as RMDC events grow larger more traffic and attention will come to Claresholm which may benefit the local businesses in town.

All the local tracks where I lived closed down so not only did we lose chances to practice motorsports safely and help build the local economy, there has been a rise in street racing deaths. Keep it open, keep the roads safe.

I had the pleasure of attending the drifts this past summer. Awesome! So good to see families of all ages out enjoying good, clean fun. It would be a shame to see it cancelled.

I think the drift club is a great way to put claresholm on the map and bring more business to our little town helping out the livelihood of many people. An intelligent person would figure out a compromise for both parties to accept.
