Time for the women to join a gun club, get an FAC and learn to defend our selves

We should ALL be allowed to have the right to know violent offenders past history of drugs.. violence.. etc. to protect ourselves!!!... Amen!!!

Domestic abuse has to be treated as seriously as capital murder. So many cases do turn into murder destroying countless lives. My family has experienced this abuse. Two years later there appears to be no end in sight. The police do all they can but abusers have no fear. After nearly killing my family member the abuser was released on a peace bond...he went right back to being abusive and threatening. There are children being affected by his behavior. There has to be changes to the laws and especially how the Courts handle these cases. Anyone who has suffered at the hands of an abuser is a survivor even if they carry the injuries and trauma for life. Brain injuries and PTSD are a major part of surviving domestic abuse. My prayer is that everything that can be done is done to prevent and protect all people from predators called abusers domestic and otherwise.

Thank you for initiating this law. It should be passed Canada-wide.

100% support this! The justice system when dealing with DV cases needs to stop handing out "peace bonds" that PO's can't even enforce when breached and then a couple years later when the threat is back, police have no support and even tell you epo/restraining are only paper, and it sucks for the victims cuz we're the ones who have to change everything in our lives not the abuser and hurry up and wait for something to happen before the police can do anything!

Make this a law! No abuse!

This should have been a law. many, many ,many...Years ago!!

I also believe that in situations where physical abuse occurs, getting a restraining order should be made much similar that the process they have now.

We need to stop violence toward women

No one should ever be treated like a possession and property, or subjected to any kind of abuse, be they woman, man, or child. I think this law should extend to juveniles too, who may be dating online before meeting in person, so parents can find out about any abusive criminal history. And further consider implementing the proposed Red Flag laws of the USA. Please pass Clare’s Law Alberta with immediate priority to provide better protection to the vulnerable in our society, and restore human dignity.
