Clare's Law Alberta - Help Prevent Domestic Violence

Let's get this done!

As a victim of domestic abuse I feel this law is a part of basic human rights

A year ago, my then-boyfriend broke my neck in a violent domestic assault. I was unaware of his alcohol addiction and did not know of his extensive run-ins with the police. I can only imagine the physical and emotional pain I could have been spared if I had known in advance what he was capable of.

We need this!

Please bring Clare’s law not only to Alberta but it should be a federal registry. Right to ask and right to know!

I hope Mr Kenney keeps this campaign promise

This woman should not have to live with the threat of him flipping the switch that turns him into an animal and possibly finding him at her back door...or the door of her family. Where is the justice here? What about her right to feel safe? She’s hurt no one. My heart goes out to you. May you be safe and free.

There should be safe against physical abuse

We should be informed, and have the right to be informed If someone is a dangerous offender, or sex offender

Please enact this law. It is important for the safety of people.

I wish we could have know that my ex step dad had, with two families previous to ours, done the "abuse the adopted family" thing - twice before marrying my mom. He destroyed two families before ours. I also wish I would have know my exboyfriend had a previous history (multiple) of domestic abuse and anger issues - before he destroyed every physical procession I owned, including my car, my home, every mental piece of sanity I had left. These situations gave me mental and emotional disabilities that I will have to continue to live with for the rest of my life. I am 24. They were preventable. I can't say things would be the same if we could have KNOWN the danger. I have 3 CLOSE friends also currently in similar senarios. This is FAR TOO COMMON and so important.

Had I had the opportunity to do this myself, in the past, I could have avoided some life changing events. I wholeheartedly believe in this petition.

I think this is very needed , and I’m sad it had to go to this extent before someone did something .
