Loved looking at this structure during my early undergrad... Just hasn't been the same around JHE since it was removed :/

The first time I came to McMaster, I knew I'd found engineering because of the "Civil Structure." (I usually call it the Steel Sculpture because, while it's specific to Civil Engineering, it captures the attention and curiosity of students in many disciplines.) When it was on the main campus, I often answered a question after class with, "do you have time to go to the Steel Sculpture so I can show you?" I fully support this student-led effort to bring it back into the McMaster Engineering experience.

Elec Eng 2015, M.Eng 2016. The civil structure belongs on campus, it is valuable as a teaching tool, even for those outside of civil.

It is not only an iconic structure, it also used to be a very useful example to demonstrate on. I believe it should be put back somewhere near JHE.

The Civil Structure was always a point of pride. It would be a shame to be one of the few Ontario Engineering schools without one. Bring it back!
