Civic Collegiate is a proposed 6-12 charter school for the students of Indianapolis. We aim to educate students who have been traditionally underserved through our college preparatory curriculum, emphasis on character education, and firm belief that civic engagement should begin well before our students are 18. Our mission stands on three pillars: College, Character, and Citizenship.

Our mission: Ensuring high levels of achievement and building habits of excellence, Civic Collegiate Public Charter School educates all students in grades six through twelve for success within the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship.

By signing this petition, I affirm that:

(1) I have read Civic Collegiate's mission

(2) I believe in this mission

(3) I would like to see Civic Collegiate open as a charter school in the fall of 2017.

Character education is a gap in our current education system. Through the civics curriculum and community service requirements, this school model seeks to bridge this gap. I hope to see this and other charter schools emerge offering these opportunities to develop our youth.

I really think focusing on what the needs of students in this type of setting are great. As students learn in this setting, they may see how getting an education is valueable and then they can see that they need to be responsible in their education
