City of Spearfish Exit 8 Rec Path Grant-Donations Not Recommended-Signatures Only
Citizens and Visitors of Spearfish:
Thanks in part to your support last year, the City of Spearfish has received $900,000 in grants for the construction of the Exit 8 Rec Path extension project. We are again eligible in 2022 to apply for another $600,000 for the construction of phase 3 which will complete the connection of the Exit 8 area to the rest of the City. The completion of this project will grow and promote continuity throughout the City, provide a longer path for recreation, and provide a safe alternative form of transportation.
To strengthen the City’s odds of being selected for this grant, we need your support again this year! Please sign the corresponding document to show the grant committee that our community supports our growth and dedication to safe alternative transportation.

getting kids to town safely is the main thing. route 14 is way to busy for bikes.
Can hardly wait for completion.. A suggestion, have a map of the trails in spearfish online
Please support this grant to help complete this gorgeous connection for Spearfish!
This is very important to me. I hate seeing small ones and women with strollers going down route 14 to get to town.
We live in the Reserve of Exit 8 so this would be great to be able to walk or ride our bikes safely

This path is needed for recreational purposes and more. As the city continues to grow, this path will get significant use in connecting new growth areas with the city core. I expect the path will receive considerable use by students as well active citizens who chose to walk, bike or skate as an alternative to driving a motor vehicle.
