This is a petition to repeal the new full cage or full plastic shield rule for Division 4 in City Ice Pavilion's Adult Hockey League.

Many players have not played hockey before with a full face protection and the distraction which it incurs to the player is detrimental to their game. Additionally, it can be a danger to that player and those around them if they are required to wear a full shield due to the newly introduced lack of peripheral vision which can cause collisions with other players whom they normally would have seen.

All players are required by City Ice Pavilion to be signed up with USA Hockey and there is no requirement within that system mandating full face protection.

Players should be allowed to have the choice when it comes to their equipment and their level of protection with that equipment.

This petition is to allow players in Division 4 to continue to wear half shield visors during league games starting with the Fall 2016 season granted that player signs a waiver to City Ice Pavilion for wearing this equipment.
