This is a petition to repeal the new full cage or full plastic shield rule for Division 4 in City Ice Pavilion's Adult Hockey League.
Many players have not played hockey before with a full face protection and the distraction which it incurs to the player is detrimental to their game. Additionally, it can be a danger to that player and those around them if they are required to wear a full shield due to the newly introduced lack of peripheral vision which can cause collisions with other players whom they normally would have seen.
All players are required by City Ice Pavilion to be signed up with USA Hockey and there is no requirement within that system mandating full face protection.
Players should be allowed to have the choice when it comes to their equipment and their level of protection with that equipment.
This petition is to allow players in Division 4 to continue to wear half shield visors during league games starting with the Fall 2016 season granted that player signs a waiver to City Ice Pavilion for wearing this equipment.

This is overreaching by the league. There is no need for it, we've already signed waivers that pledge us to not hold the rink responsible for.injury. Stop trying to be mom and dad.
Please allow use to at least sign a waiver for half shields!
I have been tapped in the face many times. But it's my face. I sign a USA Hockey waiver already, let me waive as I please.
We are adults, let us decide and sign a waiver if we choose to not go full cage.
If this is really s concern, players should be allowed to sign an additional waiver indemnifying the rink.

It seems like an unusual rule to force people to wear a cage, impending their ability to play, with zero rational as to why. We are adults who fully understand the risk.
