CITY COUNCIL: STOP & STUDY PLANS FOR CENTRAL PARK

There are better locations for a Maker Space and more questions to ask.

Having spent many hours of careful planning, I am outraged that the plan for Tuckerville for the dog park was tossed aside. My question is...who are the few that stand to gain from this bulldozing maneuver and why are they listened to over the due process of the citizens of Garland? Something of this magnitude should be put before the people of the city and voted on. If there are people who are interested in using the space productively, then I would think it would be to the city's advantage.

It should NOT be torn down!!!

I can't see any reason why council hasn't bothered to ask their constituents how they feel about this. Why not weigh all the options before making a decision.

I feel the Armory is best suited for the MakerSpace project and the dog park would be best in different location.

Please use a better suited space for the dog park and skate park.

We love to have a discussion in this important project which would impact our community for many years to come

I am greatly in favor of a maker space. C'mon Garland! Have the courage!

I urge the council to hold on demolishing the armory until any and all potential uses can be explored. A makerspace would be a great addition for the community.

We don’t need a dod park where the armory is/ plus, the cost alone of tearing it down is money that could be used elsewhere- let the building be used for something else that more people could use and enjoy

Garland has come so far - I hate seeing these few city council members stall it out for some selfish reasons we can't figure out. Let's be fair about this and all decide what's best for the community!

Whose private agenda were those five city council persons moving?

Please consider this makerspace idea! I will benefit the community greatly!!

If there is an opportunity to save tax payers money and bring people into our city then it's atleast worth looking into.

Garland may change the city motto to "Texas Demolished Here"! Looks like city council plans to push forward with spending tax dollars to demolish the national guard armory despite a citizen group and non-profit organization wanting to lease the armory from the city and spend their own money to bring it up to current code. Consider approval of prepartions being made for the demolition of the former Air National Guard Armory. At the request of Council Member Scott LeMay and Mayor Pro Tem David Gibbons, staff will present an update on the status of the preparations being made for the demolition of the former Air National Guard Armory at Central Park and will ask for approval of final arrangements in that regard.

Reading information about other local skate parks strengthens my fears about such a facility in this neighborhood. Also I would hate to see more old trees torn down -especially to put on a park?

I live in this neighborhood. We deserve and expect an explanation, discussion, and input.

This petition says enough. I do think it's a good idea to revisit this decision and have input from residents. Perhaps a citizen task force could be attached. thanks to the person who wrote this petition.

For the City Council to push through this type of neighborhood restructuring in unsconscienable. I would help our "elected" officials would be sensitive and receptive to the concerns of their consituents.
