The council ignored all public and professional input and dictated these two uses be unnecessarily dropped onto some of the most expensive structures and dirt in the park.

The residents of Garland would like to know before this kind of action is taken so that we can weigh in on the decision.

The Armory should be an Historic structure. I understand the appraised value is at least $700,000. Built at a time in our past when things were built to last; as opposed to now when things are built with a predetermined minimal lifespan.

There are plenty of open areas to built a dog park. Maybe a small cafe or bar instead of skate park is a better idea.

Please do not spend needed money to tear down a building to build parks that the majority of the population will not use. Please use that money to replace our horrible roads. I'm sure the armory can be used for something, like maybe an indoor activity building that can be used by all ages year-round.

Some areas of Garland need improvements so badly, it's shocking to hear these ridiculous plans by our city council.

MakerSpace would be a welcome addition to Garland to give adults and kids the ability to participate in crafts and hands-on skills they would otherwise not be able to afford. Give people something to do indoors when it is too darned hot out!

Please City Council, listen to your constituency and do not try to force this through. There is too much opposition by affected parties to ignore!

City Council should stop making rash decisions without citizen input. Central Park is not the appropriate location for dog park. No location is appropriate for a skate park.

I am a garland resident, and any reuse or repurposing of this site is better than spending money that is needed for everything else that the city is scrimping on starting with the staff levels of GPD.
