Doesn't seem to be a good location for either use especially when another location was already approved and the fact that residents weren't consulted really bothers me.

This reminds me of the deceitful actions and plans surrounding the demolition of the Eastgate Apartments. Neighbors were led to believe that a Super Target and other much needed retail needed to revive the area were coming. Instead, a Walmart was built, moving tax dollars and jobs from one district to another creating nothing new. I believe the council few have an agenda and plan for the Central Park space and IT IS NOT a dog park or skate park.

The city if Garland has ignored the citizens and persued personal agendas. They are completely missing out on thousands of revenue if they would open their minds on improving our baseball fields instead of taking them away. Cities like Frisco, McKinney & The Colony make thousands and bring in millions of revenue for businesses with sanctioned 2 &3 day tournaments. We have the worst fields in north Texas & its the reason our community leagues struggle to survive.

City council is suppose to represent the people NOT decide for them without a public forum. The citizens of Garland deserve to talk about this and a vote in how their tax dollars are spent!

A site was already selected in the study done in the past. Let’s move on that selection and not make a mistake in demolishing a facility others are looking to utilize. Thank you for standing your ground on this mayor.

Tearing down the Armory is not using Financial responsibility. A skate park not everyone will use. There should be Parks that MORE People use because of expenses to build.

My question is if this has been on the books for 13 yrs ,then you got a complete approval for a site a year ago why the change? What was wrong with the area already approved and nothing had to be demolished? It is vacant and ready for development. I disagree with Central Park area too close to homes and the traffic it will generate and the noise will be very disruptive to an already settled and quite area.The Armory could be used for so many more things and generate income instead of costing the taxpayers.

I support the voice of the local neighborhoods that are most affected by this decision to bulldoze & build a skate/dog park in their community. Maybe the question should be "Do any of the council want a skate park in their backyard?"

Don't bulldoze buildings that have a potential purpose. These buildings would be a great location for makerspace. Research is needed and the city staff and citzens need to supply input!!
