Not a wise move city council! It is time to put the brakes on these new plans, and check with the citizens and tax payers of this city!

City of Garland citizens have the rights to a saying on all these matters affecting all citizens. Remember, next election hopefully we will have new faces that respect us all and listen to our needs. Garland needs a revamp, but let starts with the same old council members - vote them all out.

I object to the Dog/Skate park, in Central Park, as it only benefits the limited number of citizens who live in the downtown Garland area. Save the Armory!

I agree that the Armory buildings on the ground needs to be preserved instead of demolishing it. The residents need to be heard of whether such a skate park or dog park is complementing to Central Park. Allow bidders to purchase the building, converting them over to something useful rather than wasting it away for a public service that may attract violence, theft, burglary, drugs, and trafficking of any illegal activities.

I was so excited to hear the plans for the MakerSpace in Garland. I have no desired to have a skate park or a dog park at this location.

Listen to the people as you were VOTED in to represent. Repurpose buildings. We have history and it needs to be preserved in meaningful ways. Save money and spend wisely, not foolishly.

Do not tear down the armory. The council needs to make further study then put the options on the ballot for citizens to make the final decision.

Not sure how an assessment to renovate a building could be done without knowing what the building would be used for. Put the skateboard park near the train station . Don't lose the enthusiasm and good energy of ideas people are having by not listening here. Once we lose faith in you we will stop listening to you in exchange.

Hi Joyce! You can check out MakerSpace by clicking on the link toward the beginning of the petition. It's a nonprofit community workshop that was at least considering the Armory as a Garland MakerSpace. The Council voted on the 17th, despite the petitions and 30+ citizens showing up to personally plead for restraint and reviews before the City proceeded, to bulldoze the Armory Nov 1st. Please consider calling/emailing your Council representative.
