This is a petition supporting the application for Italian citizenship being made by Jeffrey P. Andreoni. Every year thousands of individuals become Italian citizens, regardless of their faith, colour, or creed. Many have been waiting for years, while others are simply born Italian. Jeffrey Andreoni has repeatedly requested that he be recognised as an Italian born citizen by the Republic of Italy, and the state has repeatedly remained silent. The time has come to speak out against the bureaucratic regime that has been denying Mr. Andreoni his natural birthright for more than 29 years. Millions of forged, fraudulent, and illegal Italians exist throughout the world; people claiming to be Italian but not really feeling so. Meanwhile, the few genuine Italians go about their daily lives unnoticed and under appreciated as they maintain the sanctity of the title \"Italian\" for future generations. Many Italians deny their heritage, claiming to be merely \"Mediterranean\", \"Southern\", or \"French.\" Jeffrey Andreoni, conversely, is proud to be an Italian, and promises to do all that is required of him to uphold the noble citizenry of \"Italian.\" If not men like Jeffrey, then who will protect the Italian legacy By signing this petition we are declaring our support for Jeffrey P. Andreoni. We feel there is a significant problem of fraud on the Italian peninsula. Furthermore, we suggest that the Republic of Italy has acted in an irresponsible manner by not addressing this issue sooner and recommend that they remedy the situation by granting Jeffrey\'s citizenship request immediately, without further delay. We believe that the Italian Republic has voluntarily made their country an unsafe place for Jeffrey Andreoni and his supporters by not admitting Jeffrey into the country legally, thereby forcing him to live a life of shame: a bona fide Italian deprived of his homeland. We urge and support any legal remedy pursued by Jeffrey P. Andreoni and/or his legal representatives.
