No further major development in Smithfield. Our schools and emergency services are overtaxed enough!

Allowing the rezoning of Mallory Scott Farm Development to include 1106 homes of mixed styles would increase the population of Smithfield by at least 25%. This shows a complete disregard for the citizens current lifestyle, a lifestyle that many have chosen by moving from those large developed areas of Chesapeake and Virginia Beach built by Napolitano Homes. It is my hope that the Town Council and the Planning Commission of Smithfield NOT allow this type of unsustainable development to happen. I recommend that all town council members and the planning commission members watch David Attenborough's, " A Life on Our Planet" to understand the extreme over-development that is happening to us everywhere.

Zip Code 23430 This plan significantly exceeds the originally approved density and planned resources that will be needed to support this 4 times increase in strain on our resources and daily experiences Smithfield needs to grow, but thoughtfully and carefully to preserve the quality of life and sufficient services current residents live here for. Our wetlands are precious and irreplaceable and cannot be reversed once destroyed. The original number of residences, coupled with the other 3000 approved is sufficient and mire than reasonable. This feels like a tax grab more than a carefully planned and orchestrated community development plan. If there were accompanying commitments to first widening roads heading toward work hubs, school enhancements snd building, emergency and hospital services, police support, strong cable and FIOS to support the growth, without large negative impact on residents, then the request would deserve stronger support. Please do not give up what Smithfield snd Isle of Wight had the potential to become if planned properly and with the right input snd planning. This corner cannot take this extreme pressure under current infrastructure capabilities and plans Hoping also an archaeological sturdy might be done to endure we are not destroying any potential Warraskoyack sites that could be forever destroyed by a mass excavation like this.

This development will overcrowd our schools and cause major traffic problems. People move to IOWC to be in the country. These expansions are destroying the country views and atmosphere.

23430... definitely opposed to the high density proposal. This is a laid back, quiet, community with limited infrastructure. Moved here 2 1/2 years ago for the safe and congenial community. The contractor sees away of making much more money from his density construction with little investment in the community. Having been in the design and construction business we were aways conscious of blending in with our neighborhoods. Highrise apartments and close dense construction doesn't exactly meet that criteria for Smithfield.

Our schools and current road situation would not handle rapid growth in such a short period of time. Monetary gain should not be the primary reason behind the growth of a small town, long term outcomes should also be considered amongst several other factors.

No new growth without comprehensive resource planning. And even then, Smitfield is to be what size town?

I live in Carrollton and previous resided in Gatling Pointe. The roads and schools can not support this type of development!
