The plan for this land is not in keeping with its history, the aesthetics of the area, and presents over population that can not be absorbed by the area? The plan devalues the land and the well laid out plan of Gatling Point. The soil on this land cannot support the plan without causing damage to builds on it. Already, one has seen movement and cracking houses at Gatling Point because of the type soil in this area. Smithfield and IW deserves lots of green space in this part of Isle of Wight.

This is an entrance way into the town which has a wonderful rural feel- all thes home are just cookie cutter homes like subdivisions in Chesapeake & VB. Keep the subdivision small with a few 2 story townhomes and single family homes. 300 homes is plenty and will not bog down the roads, schools, police Dept & Emergency dept

Zip code 23430: Please do not allow this rezoning to take place. It would be detrimental to Smithfield and our County as a whole. It would tax our roadways which are already over burdened with traffic. Our grocery stores don’t seem to stay stocked. And we don’t have the school system that allows for growth,

23430. Build infrastructure first. We are already overcrowded without thousands more moving here
