Too much development with destroy Smithfield’s small town feel, appeal and charm. Finally, the planning commission should look into economic development rather than simply growing through residential construction.

I moved to Smithfield to enjoy the peace. I’ve no desire to have city life overtake Smithfield/Carrollton area

I’ve been a citizen In this county all my life and at this present time we don’t need another housing complex we don’t have the infrastructure nor the schooling at the present time to To those who already live here in the county. I’d like to know from the planning commission who works outside of the county or town and drives back in every afternoon to see the backed up traffic.

Our infrastructure systems cannot tolerate this unnecessary development. Wellington Estates is the perfect example of the poor soils and drainage in the vicinity of the Mallory Scott Farm property.

Present traffick congestion has exceeded road conditions capacity accelerating deterioration, increasing maintenance costs, rising vehicle accidents directly associated with the present explosion of housing growth in the area. This is detrimental and destructive too the interests and safety of the community.
