I have longed to see an end to homelessness for the remainder of my life. If my name on a petition is a start I'm more than willing to do what I can to help.

With millions of minimum wage workers ( restaurant worlers, construction laborers, dry clean operators, janitors, maids, store clerks, hotel/motel workers, bank tellers, farm workers, receptionists, childcare takers, garage attendants, retailsales people, car washers, manicurists, ambulance drivers, landscape workers, data entry keyers, elder care aids security guards, infant care workers, etc.)at the base of our nations economy, Living Wages are the least we can do to support these people.

I do not understand the thoughts some people have concerning ignoring the homeless. Our first priority should be to love and respect these people. They should be helped before we send millions to other countries. We give foreigners aid all the time while denying aid to our own fellow Americans. This makes no sense at all!! Norma Pollock

There is a homeless veteran I pass every time I go to get gas over near a dentists office and he deserves more than just pennies and bottles of water. he deserves shelter, a full stomach and protection just like what he fought for.

In the embarrassment of the culture we try to blend in, hanging around in libraries, bookstores, parks, etc... Open your eyes America, that person my not be wearing his or her favorite outfit daily, it may be the only outfit they have. In the semi tropical states this "blending in" is less difficult. Shelters are only a temporary fix, for a permanent problem. The categories of the homeless: 1. Those that choose to be. (self explanatory) 2. Those that are mentally disadvantaged. (again self explanatory) 3. Those that are forced by way of : loss of job/income/professional licenses/etc. and have now been faced with a situation that they have never even considered, or taught about and just have no idea what to do or where to turn, and may be ashamed that they are in this situation. What do I do now,...hopelessness, where should I turn to...lost, how did this happen to me....bewilderment. I need help.

I am committed in supporting this petition. I see homeless vets (men and women with children) on the streets and sometimes just hanging around the VA. I support this cause --Discharge NO ONE into HOMELESSNESS. I am there for my fellow women veterans.

There is a man at the corner of IH 35 and 51st that breaks my heart. He looks like a veteran and should be able to enjoy his old age without having to beg at corners.

I'm homeless and I'm tired of being treated like something less than a human being by police and society...
