So disappointed in Ed Hightower, someone I’ve looked up to since he was my elementary school principal, for his involvement in what can only be described as typical crooked Illinois politics.

This is not the first time a “development” of this sort was launched without advance notice of the community. Anyone remember Joesting Terrace?

Alton doesn't need another housing development! Pedal this crap to another city!

This city needs to focus on the issues it has, and it needs to move forward and not continue to make the same mistakes that it has repeatedly. We have low income housing. We need to focus on making those homes and areas safe, clean, something the residents there can be proud of. The median salary in Alton is 37,000. The school district is in extremely poor financial shape. Our homeowners and our local business owners deserve better than this underhanded, shameful spin from Mr. Hightower and Brant Walker.

We do not need more housing just for it to be torn apart by violence, murder, and drugs. What we need to do is revamp the current housing, homeless shelters, and other resources, by ensuring it is a safe and healthy environment for those truly in need.

I have lived in the area for 50 years. I agree we do not need another housing complex in Alton. I seen a difference when Joestine Terrace was torn down. We need to tear down old houses and buildings and develop single family homes throughout Alton. If you want a housing complex try another surrounding city. Spread the love!

NO NO NO We need jobs and businesses to attract and keep the future generations. If this is supposed to be so great, then why isn’t it being built in Edwardsville????

Alton already has too many low income housing units for this size town.

Our property value is low enough

Alton has enough subsidised housing. This should be placed somewhere like Edwardsville where there no subsidised housing available. At the very least it should be put on a ballot.

Alton does not need more rental housing. It needs owner occupied homes.

Tell Eddie to build it next his house. Shame on him for attempting to exit the hard working low to low middle income earners.

Dont live in Alton anymore but I don't believe that more public housing is the answer to any of Alton's problems. Kind of shady the way this was done.

Public housing is not a good thing for a community or the people living there.
