We dont need more low housing projects in Alton which will bring in more crime! Spend the money on fixing up the vacant homes and nieghborhoods we already have.

We do not need this in Alton. We have many housing complexes in town, already. We need folks to move to Alton, put down roots, make Alton their home. Become part of our economy. This project will not do that, and frankly, it will make getting folks to stay in Alton even more difficult. Our property taxes are skyrocketing, while our home values are plummeting. We have streets full of potholes, empty dilapidated buildings and houses, dangerous crime-riddled neighborhoods, and known drug houses all over the place. Do we really want to add to that? No! The answer is NO!! Clean up what we have! Find funding and grants or incentives to help home buyers get into their own place - where they’ll want to make it own, show pride in where they live because it’s theirs. We do not need anymore housing - we need more homing. If this project comes to fruition, Alton will be taking a huge step in the wrong direction.

Alton needs to focus on its current housing issues and not build more housing that will potentially (and likely) end up in the same shape. I agree with other comments - try to build this in Edwardsville.

Alton has a long history of Housing Projects, and the citizens are well aware of the Drugs and crime that are inherent with them.

Why give tax paying residents another reason to leave Alton. I've been all over this country and this is the backwards, mismanaged town and state I've ever seen!
