Chiropractors need to take X-rays!

I am an Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractor and I have a brother that is a dentist. I am against the unnecessary ordering of an X-ray, but my treatment of my patients using radiographs is very necessary. What is the risk of pressure on the brain stem? If certain doctors are abusing ordering x-rays, then investigate them, but making a large mandate is unnecessary. I bring up the fact that my brother is a dentist, because how can anyone practice dentistry without the use of x-ray. If the dentist can order an X-ray to look for dental caries, then how much more to look for brain stem pressure? This rule is absurd!

Would you let a mechanic work on your car without looking underneath the hood and searching for the root cause of the problem? Sounds silly, but should chiropractic practitioners treat spinal conditions without identifying the integrity of the spine? What if there is ligament instability, bone cancer, severe degeneration?

I have been seeing Dr. Davis over many years and he has been the most professional, focused, kind Dr that takes his work seriously and wants to make sure to do all that he is able to do to make you feel better. He has been a complete life changer for me and I can't begin to tell you in words how effective his approach has been for me and just how much he has helped me. I truly can not say enough about Dr. Davis or his staff. Because of the use of X-rays he has been able to treat my situation as it needs to be. I have been to other chiropractors and have frankly felt worse...but after seeing Dr Davis he was able to help me and treat me. Without having X-rays I don't know where I would have been right now.
Sincerely,
Deljit

Since going to Dr Josh S my Issues have improved immensely. I would be very upset if he was forced to leave the province. He only uses X-rays when necessary.

It’s not right to drastically make a decision affecting so many people, doctor as well as potential patients without hearing the other side of the story. They need their chance or you are in danger of being called a dictatorship!

Hey, would you fix my car, but don’t you dare look under the hood to determine why it’s not functioning properly - Just guess and get it done! To see is to know; to not see is to guess. There are chiropractic adjusting techniques that incorporate detailed spinal Xray analyses as an important part of the “blueprint” we use to care for each individual.
In addition, xray helps to rule out serious underlying bony pathology (fractures, tumors, infection), gives us an idea of such important factors as patients’ bone density, congenital anomalies, and more. ALL of the information xrays provide for each individual gives us a comfort level in accepting patients for care, allows for us to be as specific and precise as we can be, aids us in delivering the best care possible and thus provides us our best ability to have successful outcomes with those whom we serve.

To not allow chiro's to take and read xrays would be a huge disservice to the public. We look at xrays for function, not just pathology. The amount of times I've picked up clinically relevant findings and pathologies totally missed by the radiologist is actually shocking. Chiropractic and xrays go together like a hand and glove

Spine is the master program. If you don't debug it, your OS will be flawed. If you don't have a debugger (x-ray) you have to rely on symptoms to find solutions. The bugs love that! They can stay forever.

Chiropractors should be able to practice what their education has taught them as well as perform as responsible doctors enabled to make clinical decisions.

Chiropractors have extensive training with respect to x-rays. The chiropractic clinics I have been in only use this important tool when necessary and are very respectful of the "first do no harm" principle of health care.
