I'm sure there is gonna be a park going up somewhere in the next few years. Just wait and name something new Cesar Chavez. Why go through the trouble of renaming something that has been established in Roswell? Take a hint and wait for the right moment instead of fighting the citizens who obviously are not behind these ideas.

What has Chavez ever done for Roswell. To me $250,000 can be better spent on streets, a shelter for the homeless, etc. I hope the citizens of Roswell that this is an unnecessary use of money.

I have no problem with Cesar Chavez, but what did he ever do for this city? I wonder how Velasquez and Oropesa would feel if a councilor proposed naming the new center after, say, Ronald Reagan. I'm so glad Velasquez is on her way out.

There are far more important things to be focusing on in Roswell. Stop using tax dollars for BS Agendas. There are plenty of areas to improve on that you can use your time addressing.
