Citizens Against Mining-Mad River Township OH

I have spent many years of my childhood climbing and playing among the limestone rocks and cliffs off of Rocky Point Road. The entire area from Fairfield Pike past Greenon high School to Enon is full of Natural beauty. Nice homes and property has been established in those areas. As a child I would notice the ugly fencing that hid a gravel pit. Never could understand how an area so naturally beautiful could allow that there. Always hoped it would not go beyond those fenced boundaries. But now, they plan to do just that. So, why in the world would anyone who cares about private homes, beautiful land , clean water and individual lives even consider allowing the mining company to expand in such a way. It only served to lower the value and beauty of this land. If money is your only reason, than consider the value and incomes of all the people this decision will affect . I ask you to NOT allow this expansion. Show people you actually care about home owners, their land, property values and God given stewardship of this land . There are other places to mine than to destroy this particular area. Thank you Martha Barnes

I live near John Bryan which is a pristine area near the location of this proposed quarry. Blasting will effect the ecology of John Bryan and Glen Helen. Our water tables will be effected and we DO NOT want this near us. Those who moved to the Yellow Springs area value our small town, value the peace and quite and value the community that was built. A loud and obnoxious quarry operation would change the dynamic.

We live in the area that will be affected by this potential change. Please protect our wells, water, air and property value. And protect the scenery around our beautiful area

Totally against the development of this miming project.

As a valuable commodity, water will be the next oil. We cannot afford to degrade our aquifer through the disruption of the local hydrology this mine would cause. Our childrens' future clean water must not be sold out for the short term profit of people who can't or won't realize the paramount importance of this issue.

I live in the area where this will have a major impact. NO MINING!!!

We can't allow this contamination to occur for the sake of our grandchildren, our children and ourselves and this great clean community we live in.

I live directly across the street from one of the proposed mining sites.

This is a terrible idea and would be devastating to this small community.

The permit being requested will allow dewatering of over 600 acres, which has the potential result of lowering the water table thus affecting local residents water capacity in their wells. The permit will also allow excavating an additional 63 feet through the shale layer that contains radioactive elements. When these elements are released from the shale they may contaminate the ground water in the area. These threats along with the blasting which may damage well structure and home foundations, will lower the value of homes in the area. This quarry permit should not be approved by ODNR.

I am very concerned with the proposal; this could affect our water supply and quality of life in so many ways. I strongly oppose the cement plant's expansion plans.

I'am a resident of echo hills and against this type of mining.

Stop the quarry....dont pollute our water, we have small children and dont want their health to be an issue.
