As a citizen of Frederick County. I oppose a data center at the Valcluse Road / Hites Road area. Data centers are unsightly, soulless buildings which add nothing to the beauty of Frederick County. Once complete, they provide a minimal number of jobs (25-30 employees) working around the clock.
Consider areas zoned Industrial. Your constituents live and love the Rural Areas (RA) and for its sereneness, views and pace of life.
I ask the planning commission this: What would a data farm look like to you from your OWN kitchen window or front porch? Hmmmm, unsightly and soulless.
PLEASE DO NOT APPROVE THIS CHANGE TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN.
Regards,
Robert Turner

Data centers only take from the community, they add no value whatsoever. It’s the last thing the county needs.

No. No. No. Enough is enough. This county, especially Stephens City, is getting over grown without the infrastructure to support it. We need schools before we need data centers, or car washes, or storage facilities. This needs to stop. Asap

When you bring in more industry (ugh!), it also brings employees and more residential dwellings to accommodate them. More industry and more residents=more need for infrastructure like schools, services, shopping which we don't have enough of. The access roads to shopping are limited and traffic is jammed with too many malfunction junctions. The county needs to spend some time bringing in more service businesses like grocers, health care, entertainment and recreation, and small independent business...in different areas of our community. Please! Plan better for a better place to live with a thriving sense of community.

Please NO! Our property has already been depreciated with solar farms! We cannot give up all our wonderful farm land for this atrocity!

Please do not build any data centers in Frederick County. The benefits do not outweigh the costs. Please keep northern virginia in northern virginia.

The solar panel farms are hideous enough. The area is losing all of its beautiful charm ... quickly!

I live in the Back Creek district. Do not destroy farm lands, orchards and natural resources to build a data center. These rural areas are being lost at an alarming rate. Use already zoned industrial land only. Commit to enforcing that data centers be responsible for their water and energy usage by building and updating infrastructure needed so as not to impinge upon residents in the area. Cradle to grave planning and removal of all wastes created if the land is sold or to include soil and water testing. No environmental destruction. Read planning commissions from other countries that are using environmentally friendly lifetime designs.
