No alternative C

Option C is highly inappropriate and makes absolutely no sense. It is also extremely disruptive for the communities affected. Children who live in close proximity to schools should be able to attend those schools and not have to be subjected to unnecessary, lengthy bus commutes.

Alternative B is the best option.

People plan their lives and buy these homes to build their children's futures. Practice some conscience and give the Title I school better resources. Pay the teachers more. Invest in communities in a morally upright way. Under served communities need real solutions. Try some clarity. Try to care more about real people.

Why not send the kids to the elementary school closest to their homes, and if boundaries need to be changed to relieve overcrowding, then why not shift the boundaries at the boundaries, rather than flip flop students in one area close to an elementary school with other students which are close to a different school?!?!

I am a parent of two Ritchie Park children. I am strongly opposed to Alternative C which implements a costly and inconvenient crisscross busing arrangement. Alternative C would disrupt close-knit communities, force students to take significantly longer bus rides, and increase transportation costs. This alternative overly emphasizes the diversity criteria to the detriment of all other criteria. The costs of C far outweigh its benefits as it would be too disruptive for too many families. I respectfully encourage you to base your decisions on facts and on the community's voice, not a flawed interpretation of one research study. Thank you.

We bought our home from my husband's parents. My husband went to Ritchie Park in the 80s . This community has been part of the school for over 40 years. Community is everything to us. I am a Montgomery County Public School teacher. Having my young children bussed so far away from our home presents many obstacles and challenges for our family and working schedules. My young children will be on the bus every day without seatbelts in rush-hour. Has anybody on the board ever been in this area when there was light rain and seen the congestion? It has taken me as long as 30 minutes to go less than 2 miles because Rockville Pike is one of the busiest shopping areas in the county. The children will never be able to ride their bikes and scooters or walk to school. Activities outside of the school day will be difficult including PTA Meetings, concerts, book fairs, international family night, school picnics, science fairs... Doctor visits during the school day will take children out of the classroom at least twice as long. This weekend my husband and I drove to the school and we made almost every light and had zero traffic as it was 11 AM on a Saturday morning. It took 16 minutes. However our children will be going to school and leaving school during rush hour. Our children will also be on a bus route picking up all of the other students. A county driver reported that the route is only 12 minutes and I challenge this and do not believe this is possible. Maybe they accidentally timed it from the school instead of the bus stops in Horizon Hill? Another thing we do not know about is childcare after school. We currently have our children in afterschool care until 5:30 within 1 mile from our home because these are young children that need constant care. Please remember we are not talking about middle school and high school aged children who can walk home from a bus stop and let themselves in the house. We would be traveling in one of the county's busiest shopp

My family is against breaking up our neighborhood community by sending Horizon Hill students across town to Twinbrook Elemenatry. Keep our student at Rictchie Park.
