No community should be isolated from its elementary school. A small community such as RP4 cannot be left without its ES community.

Proximity and stability of school assignments over time are essential. We have to care for our children and think about what is best for them and us as parents, since uncertainty and long distance to school make our lives more complicated and therefore it affects our children’s lives in a negative way. Our children live in a neighbourhood where they know each other and share the same lifestyle, so there are bonds that make them feel safer and more comfortable. You know all the parents and if something comes up you can trust on them because you get to know them. That’s one of the advantages of living in a neighbourhood. Trust and security are also important issues to bear in mind.

The school board has already changed us from our nearby schools. It was terrible for the children and the community. It would be cruel to do it again.

Born and raised in the RM cluster, and bused as a kid from my "home school" across town had a negative impact on my family and cronies in so many ways. Childcare was significantly harder for my parents to dropping us off miles out of the way from our home, and pick us up, both during rush hours. This in itself took away a minimum forn40 minutes of family time for us as a whole, delayed our dinner time, etc.

I am horrified at this illogical proposal. It is totally nonsensical! Let our children stay within their communities. It is safer, more conducive to afterschool activities and far better socially and practically for the whole family.
This is ridiculous!
