The geographic proximity is paramount for building relationships among peers during the elementary years. Please do not support the scattershot proposal of Option C. I am a homeowner and parent of an MCPS student.

Of course, Option C is a really bad idea. There is another concern. School #5 appears to have been put in the wrong place. We are relying on the student population data going out 4 to 5 years. Yet, the overcrowded schools are in the North and West of the RM district. Was this a surprise? School #5 is in the south east of the district. If school #5 was located based on similar data, those data were either completely misinterpreted, or are clearly unreliable. Until we know whether we should rely on such data, only minimal changes, well supported by other data should be made. Definitely not Option C.

I strongly oppose Alternative (Option) C and hope that the board will leave the school assignment for the Horizon Hill neighborhood as it is today.

Moving students away from established neighborhoods does not make sense.

Students should be able to attend school in the community in which they reside.

This sounds like a bad idea, and will have little kids offloading in the dark in the winter. Keep the kids closer to home.

Students should be going to school in their own community. This effects their academic , social and athletic lives. They are too young for this upheaval at the Elementary age. Disappointed if the BOE doesn't consider the wishes of both communities.

I am strongly against Option C for several reasons -- it breaks up communities (for several neighborhoods not just Horizon Hill); increases commute time for so many students (we are talking about increasing commute time for 5, 6 year olds not by a minute or two, but more likely 20+minutes); and it keeps Ritchie Park (and College Gardens ES) over capacity. There's no point in moving students just to keep those ES still at over capacity.

We’re right across the street. How can this make sense?

Have you Driven from Falls Grove to the new School during the morning commute?? Please do so if you haven't already.. It's much longer, not to mention we pass two other elementary schools (Lakewood and Falls Meade) on the way.

Vote option A. Please!

PLEASE consider Alt A. It is the ONLY option fully vetted by the Boundary Study over the last year and keeps the MOST neighborhoods together with their existing catchments.

Past Ritchie Park parent. None of the published factors make sense, as demonstrated on the petition.

Stop wasting tax payer money with your ridiculous busing schemes. The US Supreme Court declared school busing illegal over 40 years ago. This applies to the almighty Montgomery County as well.
