I'm concerned about keeping Lake Michigan water clean. The toxins from this landfill are already a problem. Let's not pollute our drinking water any more.

This is a health hazard!!

This dump needs to be closed. It has affected our neighbor hood negatively for years, the smell, the garbage that ends up in our yards, and the noise as well as our property values have been negatively affected. Enough is enough.

STOP THE DUMPING EXPANSION IN OUR CITY!

So far every nice day this year we've had to endure the stench from this dump. We have to stop this now!

Stop expansion

I have lived near the dump for almost 50 years. For the last 20 years, I have lived the most east of the dump that you can, in Winthrop Harbor. I can smell the dump in the morning sometimes. We, as responsible citizens, must stop this expansion to protect ourselves now and for the future of this area. The lakefront and Forest Preserve will be unusable in the next 20-30 years. Those that live over the border in Wisconsin should be extremely concerned also. This is NOT a problem for just those that live nearest to the dump! Wadsworth, Pleasant Prairie, Beach Park all need to stand up and say NO! And for those that are in Gurnee, Kenosha, and Waukegan, better stand up too! Because in 20-30 years this WILL become your problem. Be PROACTIVE and help stop this expansion before it becomes an issue to deal with in 20-30 years!

I lived in zion for over 20 years. This landfill has always been at the center of discussion for decades. The height of it is an eye soar. The rank, rotting smell, and gas fumes make it impossible to drive near. I was a frequent golfer at Sheppard's Crook, as well as Big Oaks. But in the summer, playing these courses is impossible, due to the nauseating stench from this landfill. Even with decades of complaints of the smell, it can still be detected MILES away. I have no idea how the residents in a 10 mile radius of this place can stand it.

When the wind blows we can smell it all the way to Landon!!

The last several years the problems have been getting worse and worse.

Close this place down! I am tired of smelling it and picking up garbage blowing through the neighborhood. I can't even have parties anymore because of the smell.

Find another way to manage this waste!

Expansion needs to stop. They need to clean up their act. No more room should = shut down.

The "landfill" has exceeded it's expansion at least twice so far. We can no longer enjoy our yards, decks,etc. We can't open or windows because of the flying trash and smell. STOP THE DUMP! STOP ANY EXPANSION!!

After living in my home 17 years, with 9 good years at the beginning, my home is worth less than I paid for it in 2001. The stench, noise, constant debris fling into our yard, and the horrible smelling dust all over our home and inside the garage even when the garage door is not open. Jim Lewis and Mike Kuhn could care less and only appease with words when contacting. The Lake County Health Department is making so much money off the landfill they do absolutely nothing for fear of killing their cash cow.

I do not want that landfill expanded. I worry about it being a health hazard. The smell is awful.
