The dump smells bad > looking from my house it looks like a giant mountain with flames out of it.. Not good for looks of my home

So you're telling us . . . if this expansion goes through . . . that you care MORE about ONE company than about the thousands and millions of people who would be affected by the expansion. You ought not be a legislator if you don't care about the people. And don't tell me you do if this expansion goes through!!

Although I am not a resident of the presently affected neighborhood, I do live in Lake County and near Lake Michigan. Expansion of the current landfill (already causing a negative impact) will likely result in damage to the Lake and thus cause problems for a far greater population. Based upon the prior track record of the landfill, there is no basis for any further expansion.

Something has to be done to protect the people that live by the dump. A dump should not be by homes and our water supply.

This is a huge potential environmental and health hazard. If Advanced Disposal Zion Landfill is successful in obtaining the annexation & expansion of the present landfill, this would add another 30-40 years of environmental health hazards; methane gas and uncontrolled NMOC emissions; not only the odor causing bacteria and landfill gasses, debris and contaminated dust particles that are carried in the air, which can cause respiratory issues and other problems, but also the soil contamination, possible underground water contamination which can filter down to the aquifers which supply water wells, and the natural water runoff that flows into Lake Michigan. The expansion must be stopped.
