Member of County Assembly for Mwanamwinga Ward in Kilifi County Chairs the Health Committee. Recent documented evidence reveals both his reluctance and incompetence in serving Kilifi people through this Committee as the Chair. The Health sector in Kilifi County has been overwhelmed by challenges ranging from lack of drugs, inadequate staffing, poor equipments in most hospitals, with allegations of corruption in the health department. While the County Assembly of Kilifi is the primary oversight institution where relevant Committees on oversight like Health are supposed to help the Kilifi public to put the department on check, the Chairman of that Committee has contrarily decided to collaborate with the department instead of leading his Committee towards effective oversight outcomes. Recently, he decided to abandon his Committee meeting that meant to interrogate the department on several issues including scarcity of drugs in kilifi hospitals. His decision to abscond parliamentary session of his Committee's importance to attend a luxury retreat in voi organised by the executive angered Kilifi Citizens and it for this reason that Kilifi people are signing this petition
