Dear Barbara, Sparlha, and the ICPW Faculty,
As weekend students, we recognize the difficulties associated with scheduling the ICPW program. We are also aware of your willingness to work with previous ICPW cohorts in avoiding scheduling conflicts when they impact a vast majority of students.
In that regard, we wish to express our strongly felt concern about holding the first weekend of Fall 2013 ICPW semester during Labor Day weekend. Considering that many students also work full-time, a vast majority of students use these holiday weekends to visit family, participate in cultural events, deepen their spiritual practice, or some combination thereof.
We would be so grateful if the faculty would consider adjusting the Fall 2013 ICPW schedule in a way that would allow us to spend our holiday weekend with our loved ones and spiritual communities.

I have been hearing from so many of you about your plans for the holiday and how heartbreaking it feels to miss out on those traditions (my own family is already asking if I am coming home which makes this feel even more urgent). Silence from the department is still the only thing currently on the table but I am keeping my eyes on my inbox every single hour.

Total pain in the neck to travel that weekend anyway. Flights and gas are always a nightmare. Keep us in mind for the calendar.
Please move the dates. Labor Day is the one weekend I actually get to see my family all year and I really dont want to miss it.
Work full time plus school is already crazy. Let us have the holiday to recharge please.
This is supposed to be a program about balance but this scheduling creates nothing but stress. Rethink it.
Hoping they listen to us for once. Its just one weekend change.

It makes no sense to put the first weekend on a major holiday. Nobody is going to be focused if they are forced to be there instead of at home.
