Chris has been forced to quit Snooker due to a spine condition, yet the fund refuse to help him and his family, despite the former champion relying on his wife\'s part-time income. The fund was setup to help players who have fallen on hard times and has helped former stars such as Alex Higgins. In Small\'s case, the condition he is suffering could be linked with the participation of the sport, unlike some others who, although suffer a horrible disease, could be construed as inflicting it on themselves through habits chosen by themselves.
