There is an issue with the way certain facets of the school has conducted ourselves that I can no longer ignore. Both student Council, as well as most other clubs offered, have meetings for the duration of lunch. As you know, mass is offered by father Kurt at this time. I have been told by my moderators that I should forego this opportunity in the instances that their meeting is at the time of mass. First of all, I would say that my spiritual life takes precedence over my academic life. If we Catholics truly believe that Jesus is present in the Eucharist, we would go like our lives depended on it(they do), and we wouldn't restrict others from taking part. But enough ranting. Because of this, I am going to create a petition which I will ask students to sign in order to change club meeting times to after mass during lunch. None of the clubs I partake in require the full time of lunch, and all of them could manage to use the time after mass productively. If one doesn't go to mass, this would give them the opportunity to eat lunch prior to the meeting, so that they may fully engage themselves. Nothing should come before Christ in the Holy Eucharist. By signing this petition, you stand with me in choosing God's work over man's.

Alumni 1987... one of my best memories at Bourgade was in the early morning mass at with Father Burke. I think this is a simple change that can be taken care of and give the right message to students taking the initiative to put their sacramental life as a priority. ♡♡♡

Whatever happened to the Catholic part of the name? Let Mass be the priority!
