The students of Saint Francis University want to keep their faith and spiritual life alive at school, but are left feeling threatened by the school taking over the Agape Chapel. This is a place where people feel safe, where retreats are held by Campus Ministry to benefit the spiritual well-being in students, where students can let their emotions free in private with the Lord, engage in bible studies, sing their hearts out to the Lord, practice for Praise and Worship, pray together, and build each other up in faith. Therefore, we, representing the student body of Saint Francis University, request that the Agape Chapel remain as it is currently.

I have been reading the stories you left in the comments about what this chapel means for your mental health and your walk with God. Taking this space away would leave a void in our campus life that cannot be filled by an office or a classroom. I am currently reaching out to the administration to explain that this is not just a building but our home.

Seeing this much energy behind saving our chapel brings me to tears because I know how many of us rely on that sacred space just to get through the week. Your commitment to protecting our home for prayer proves that we are not going to let this place be taken away without a fight.

While it was a lovely, quiet place to pray, I had many deep conversations with friends in that chapel. It was always a safe, spiritual place to connect on a deeper level in God's presence. In my 6 years at SFU, I have so many memories of being in the Agape Chapel or the hallway outside of it. Yes, the Immaculate Conception Chapel is right next door, but it is not as intimate and versatile. I recall being in that space for adoration, night prayer, retreats, non-denominational services, simple worship, friendship, meetings of a spiritual or serious nature, and so much more. I would encourage the administration to get creative and expand elsewhere. Agape Chapel should stay just as it is: a safe, unassuming space for students of any faith or background to find some quiet.
If it wasn't for agape chapel, I might not have ever found the way that re-instilled my faith in the Lord. When I was in school, this place was a true non-judgemental place on campus where one could practice his or her faith. I loved the nightly prayer groups and intention sessions!
What a disappointment it would be to see the chapel closed. This is a vital element to the non Catholic students at St Francis. As a parent who pays a substantial tuition to this university I wholly support keeping it open as a place for students to practice their faith
Saint Francis claims to welcome all denominations so by eliminating a core component of the non catholic students, who still persue their faith, they would be violating their own claim.
The Agape Chapel played a huge role in the development of my faith throughout my time at SFU. As a non Catholic student, the Agape Chapel is somewhere I feel more comfortable than the immaculate conception chapel. It's where I have encountered God time and time again on campus. I have found myself inside the chapel on numerous occasions just to pray and draw closer to God. It would be such a shame to see it changed.
As a parent who pays a substantial tuition to this university , the school needs to keep the Chapel open to support non catholic students a place to practice their faith
This is Saint Francis University and the chapel is one tiny place in which activities such as retreats are held. The university does not need offices that bad.

The point of this chapel, since I became a student, was to allow non-denominational students have a place of sanctity and peace for their beliefs without having to travel. For the benefit of the school, allowing students to express their freedom of religion would be well respected and advantageous of campus ministry and the school
