I am strongly in favor of moving forward with the Orange Route. I am also completely AGAINST THE RED ROUTE which would wreak considerable harm in terms of lost jobs (from businesses being paved over), lost private property, noise and air pollution, loss of tax revenue (from business and property owners moving away from the area), and the stressful emotional/psychological tolls that the red route would have upon the loyal citizens of Garner.

We live not too far from where the Red Route would go. We wholly support the Orange route, which would also provide more access to the southern areas of Wake County. And, due to the support of mayors and Wake County commissioner, we support the common sense measure of the Orange route.

Besides the points made above in the petition itself, all of which I agree with, the fact is choosing the Purple route will destroy my home and leave half of my neighbors with property along a freeway where it used to be large open wooded acreage. We chose these homes, some of the older ones in the area, because they are the last of the large acreage properties in "town" and home to much of the displaced wildlife from the built up neighborhoods around us. The Purple-Blue-Liliac route has many other drawbacks environmentally - it has the largest impact on streams and floodplains as well as protected species. The Purple-Blue-Liliac route displaces the most homes and businesses by nearly double and will be the most expensive and longest to build and create more traffic and development in areas the towns did not plan nor anticipate. Finally, if I lose my home, I will relocate my business as well which is a resource to the local residents. Please do not destroy my home, choose the original Orange route as planned for all along.

There should be no reason why the plan that has been around for almost two decades should be shelved. People's lives and entire communities have been built around the removal of the purple route some years ago. The acceptance of the purple route at this point would undo millions of dollars of investments and development and roll back economic development since it's prior removal. Stick with the orange route, it's what everyone has been planning around as well for the same amount of time.

It is unconscionable to me that a route other than the orange route would be selected. For over a decade informed citizens have purchase property based on the orange route and changing that now is unbelievable and will leave hundreds, if not thousands of citizens, financially impacted at a time when many are recovering from the recession.

The Orange route has been on the books for years. The county made the assumption that that's where 540 was going by building houses and businesses everywhere else. Stick with the original plan.

Do what you planned...no reason for change when so much has been built around the PLAN!

We did our homework years ago before purchasing our house in 2012. We did so based on a decision to exclude the purple-blue route. Please honor your past decision.

Please choose the original orange route. I would never have bought the house I live in now if I thought 540 was going to go through my street. This is my dream home and I would be devastated if I had to move . Thank you!

The purple tribute should not be selected due to the enormous costs for homes and businesses, the impact on the environment, the fact the Orange route was designated the preferred route over a decade ago and the life changing effect it would on thousands of residents.

We oppose the blue-purple route. As it disrupts too many established neighborhoods. Please choose the already protected orange route.

The orange route is the only path that makes sense for those of us living roughly along NC42. To be able to get to I40 and thus to Raleigh via US401, Rock Service Station Rd, or NC50 without having to go through multiple light-cycle delays at the 312 interchange, and then for us to be able to get to the greater Cary area from those same roads, while being able to avoid TenTen rd is the entire reason the Orange Route should be the only choice. I am actively involved in nature preservation in my own area, however I can say that potential decreases in the number of Dwarf Wedge Mussles will have NO impact whatsoever on any of us this area. Building the Orange Route, in contrast, WILL have a HUGE impact on ALL of us in this area on a weekly basis. These reasons should be enough to choose the Orange over any other option. The Purple and Blue wouldn't impact my home at all, so I have no opinion as to housing that would be affected, but just on the fact that the Purple and Blue are 1) longer roads, and 2) go through Fuquay and Willow Spring, which ALREADY have access to NC540 via NC55, the Purple and Blue just don't make good sense

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the 94 homeowners in The Crofts at Brackenridge Subdivision, we are opposed to the Purple/Blue/Lilac route and support the Orange route for this proposed extension

Based on the EIS - all routes being considered will have an impact on the environment. So, why not choose the route that will have the least human impact? Stick with the route with the least impact on homes and businesses. Stick with the route that has been on the books for 20 years, Stick with the route that makes the most sense financially. Stick with the route that all the surrounding towns have planned for. Stick with the ORANGE route. Please eliminate the Purple - Blue route from consideration.
