No Roadway for Canmore's Pathway!

The proposed enhancements to the trail seem excessive - too wide, too destructive, too much lighting. Some upgrades to the existing path would be fine - just not the ones currently proposed.

We believe that the current pathway is sufficient. There should have been consultation with all residents prior to this project being approved.

E-bikes would make this pathway very unsafe for pedestrians, dog walkers and wildlife. Pavement would only increase speeds. This is not an appropriate commuter route which it appears to be (no matter what the town says about mixed use).

What do we want our beautiful mountain town to look like Canmore? Let’s keep the charm of mountain town resort. The amount of concrete and lights proposed would truly be a shame anywhere in Canmore.

Walked the path many times and like the way it is. Want it to remain looking natural not asphalt,lighted and straight. Council seems to have forgotten they work for the constituents. There should be public consultation to find out what the community wants

This just seems so out of step with Cantor's tone.

I support sensible and moderate improvements to this beloved pathway, and Council should consider other viable alternatives for high-speed commuter bike traffic.

Please leave this as a safe, protected pathway. The plan will destroy all that it has become for families and wildlife. Extend Legacy Trail and please leave this area as a special gathering spot.

Maintain nature and spend money like this in affordable housing initiatives to support diverse populations living in the valley.

Please save for the next generation

Canmore does not need an E-Bike highway! The path is used by locals and wildlife. Keep it safe for them! People visiting a wilderness areas have long visted without need for E-Bikes! Walking is safer for visitors and a great way to see the area.

This “residential” pathway should not be sacrificed for high speed transportation. The goal of more effective bike transport is good but should be confined to improvements (bike lanes etc.) along roadways, not local pathways. Most Canmore roads are reasonable for riding now and well shared by cyclists, roller skiers and cars but if further improvement is required, it should be focused on the roadways.

I am a former athlete in whitewater kayaking. I have kayaked down there for decades. Please don’t ruin this habitat and focus on a sustainable route elsewhere.

This is a horrible idea. For a community that prides itself on being conscious and caring of wildlife and nature, this totally goes against these ideals. It's ridiculous, really.

A paved bike lane on the roadway would be far more appropriate for a bike commuter lane. The joy of this path is its unpaved nature. Widening and paving the path is not a sustainable way forward, but rather adds non permeable surface and light pollution. Please leave the trail as a trail & not a paved pathway.

Widening the pathway would necessitate dispensing with or moving the memorial benches that people have paid for and contracted placement of said memorials

Stop the madness and over growth of our town. Stop catering to tourists and listen to the locals.

This us a really troubling development. We have a fabulous pathway that I both walk and cycle with Canmore's beauty and nature taking centre stage (as opposed to a manufactured trail). There is no need for the project, the expenditure and the creation of problems where none exist.

To turn a beautiful walkway/bike pathway into a high speed race way makes me sense to me.
