I do not support the upgrade of the West Bow River Pathway. I live in the Homesteads and I regularly run and walk along the pathway and I am concerned that the changes will contribute to cyclists travelling at high speeds through that area. I was almost run down earlier this year on the existing pathway by a pair of cyclists travelling too fast for the pathway, they seemed to think that pedestrians had no right to also be on the path. I think the situation will only be worse if more cyclists are on the pathway if it is upgraded.

I use this wonderful path for exercise and to enjoy the best view of the river. Can we not keep some natural areas to navigate together-bikes and walkers. Slow down bikers or use the road.

I love this path the way that it is, and it doesn’t need to be “improved.” Please consider putting our resources towards other, better initiatives

Path maintenance yes… but NO to re-engineered with artificial lights, pavement and accommodation for bikes and vehicles (maintenance vehicles at first - watch people try to drive on it).

These guys want to give all to bikes and take away as much as possible from cars!! No more ponytails in planning and they need to hire people with driver's licenses.

The proposal to create a bicycle FREEWAY through this lovely secluded portion of the Bow Valley is a gross violation of any commitment the Town has ever made to protect the environment and natural beauty of the community!
If it is built, the Town will never be the same, and the Town will seriously regret it. The junction at the Bow River Bridge will be a nightmare, and the Town is likely to be liable for huge damages when these foreseeable conflicts become serious claims arising from e-bikes colliding with children and seniors in this congested bottleneck!
Is anyone in authority thinking this through?

1.Can’t believe the town wants to push elk out of their pasture/ habitat. There must be a provincial by-law that makes this illegal
2. If cyclists want a pave path to go to work , make a bike lane on each side of the existing wide roadway ,which the town clears of snow - thus no expense for new infrastructure and no new expense for snow removal on a new bike roadway

I live near the park and so many animals frequent it, I think that widening the trail is a bad idea. Make the bike riders ride on the street.

We need places to walk safely with pets & children without competing with e-bikes. This will disrupt the wildlife movement in our areas even more than the current major infrastructure that has misplace them. (housing projects in Stewart Creek).
