It is insane to tax homeowners at 12.5% in the upcoming year, and have us pay to pave and maintain an already well utilized and safe gravel path! Leave it as is and let's fund services that make the Bow Valley more affordable for business owners and frontline staff! Who wants to visit a tourist town with paved paths where restaurants and shops are closed because they can't draw staff to the BV? Let's prioritize spending! I understand there is already money allocated to this project that can't be rerouted for other uses, but what about the ongoing maintenance cost? Who will pay for that?

The cheerleaders for this project seem to be bike-riding ToC employees, people owing guided walking tour businesses & I guess property developers in Three Sisters who get to advertise that they now can offer a lovely river path at taxpayers' expense. This stinks to high heaven.

Stop paving Paradise and Impacting the natural environment in a negative way , Cutting down trees ? Elk and other wildlife habitat disruption? Bill Trout habitat? Artificial Light pollution ? Is this necessary in a town where residents are fined for fruit trees open garbage ??? Lots of double standards and Hypocritical actions here . Disrespectful of taxpayers

We are also long term residents of this area. I have also just found out about this plan .When agendas are is used behind closed doors how are the public expected to know about decisions being made? We are seniors but we also have young grandchildren that enjoy walking “The Path” and we have already almost been run over by bike riders resulting in a few choice words from all parties. This area is so beautiful and very peaceful to walk and contemplate life’s problems. With all the weekenders that come to our lovely spot the changes proposed will indeed make this little stretch of heaven into a highway.There is a saying….If it’s not broke..don’t fix it.Enough already!

I am a senior and I enjoy walking. I don't bike. If you take the path away from us seniors, that is limiting our ability to enjoy the outdoors and limits our exercising.

We enjoy a day in Canmore wa.king the trail for.lowed by lunch. If we have to walk dodging bikers, we won't come.

The grades and gravel surface in some areas could be upgraded to make the path more user friendly for those with mobility issues. Otherwise leave this trail alone. It is the prettiest trail in town. No need for widening or paving. Spend the allocated funds on far more immediate issues.

Why will the bridges be 5.5m wide if the rest of path between Van Horne and West Canmore Park is supposedly only going to be 3.5m? Why would Town send letter to residents saying the paths will be 5.5m then backtrack to publicly say only 3.5m once this petition was started? And, in July 1 Rocky Mountain Outlook: "Andy Esarte, the Town’s manager of engineering, said the project will align the gravel path with current standards as well as allow it to be maintained in the winter...He said... the two wooden bridges will be upgraded to the 5.5 metres."

The existing gravel trail is more than sufficient to support bike and pedestrian traffic. A paved trail does not belong in our mountain community.

I tried to stop the housing in that area when it started to get developed, knowing full well the next thing was a path, then a bike path, now a freeway. You reap what you sow
