No Roadway for Canmore's Pathway!

Ridiculous project that will make a crazy impact on the River, wildlife that people doesn’t seems to care about no more… you are getting Coucou… no in a good way!!

Mr. Mayor: Listen to the people. When they say unsafe, displace, harm, pollution, cost they are justifiably alarmed and responsible citizens.

Canmore’s attraction is that it tries to stay in harmony with nature. Nightime lighting will significantly disturb the wildlife corridor and is the antithesis of what people find attractive in Canmore.

Sacrificing what makes Canmore great, and what sustains tourism (its beauty) for a road. Absurd!

The town has not been transparent,so disappointed !

Stop ruining our town!

Please listen to the citizens of the town and do what’s in OUR best interests, not those of the tourists who don’t care in the same way. This is a waste of money, tax dollars that could be better spent on a more sensible and reasonable project.

I totally agree. It could be improved but not turned into a bike highway.

Do not do anymore to destroy the ambiance of Canmore. There is no reason for this planned pathway..

Pave paradise and put up an unnecessary paved bike trail

Totally against what the Mayor and Council are suggesting to do with our walking trail in regards to paving it. What is happening to our town??

This paved path is so contrary to Canmore's ecological objectives!

Must be stopped -

You can never replace nature once it is destroyed.

This is not progress. This is mismanagement of precious money better spent on preserving Canmore's unique character.

Any improvements to this path should enhance not detract from the current assets of wildlife, scenery, safety and enjoyment. Widen to 8-10 ft yes. Lights - why??? NO to pavement. Gravel is better than pavement for safety, comfort and cost: can hear approaching users on gravel, much easier on joints for running and walking, gravel is cooler than pavement on hot days. With gravel, less likely to fall from black ice that hides on smooth pavement in winter. Why diminish this functional gravel path from something fun and casual for all users to an extra wide, expensive highway for bikes? It won't be relaxing or enjoyable for walkers, runners, and casual cyclists to worry about dodging silently approaching speeding commuters on bikes and e-bikes from both directions.

Separate from the listed reasons the plan is wrong, the character of current path is consistent with the informal, outdoor ambience that Canmore currently enjoys. This is a fragile asset that would be destroyed in the current plan. If bike access to downtown Canmore is a priority, create bike lanes on Three Sisters. There is no need to displace pedestrians, cross country skiers and dog walkers who would be at risk from substantially increased bike traffic.

Leave the path as is . It is an anamal corridor not a hoghspeed e bike track.

Totally agree! Don’t kill the goose that lats the golden eggs. People come for nature not pavement!!
