It’s already unsafe with e-bikes and cyclists travelling fast and some uncaring about others on Cougar Creek pathways. I don’t want to think about how much worse it will be there.

widening the current bike path to roadway size would be a travesty!!!
Faster vehicles would make it more dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists alike …. not to mention families and younger children who need safe places to travel as they improve their skills. The infringement on animal habitat would be huge. And the costs for such major changes an unnecessary expenditure of resources. Improvements, yes, but more sensible and modest ones ….

Please rethink this path development. I heard it was a done deal in 2016. No consultation or notification to the residents who will be affected. Who has organized this? If not the mayor and council then who? To whom do we direct our concerns?

I came to Canmore for the natural beauty, not a paved highway. People come to decompress along the river and view wildlife. This is completely the opposite and is unwelcomed.

Just stop the overdevelopment. How about go for a dark sky preserve. More lights traffic and yet more animal displacement is so against what we stand for as a community.

This stretch of pathway is charming as it is. I fail to understand how pavement will add anything other than to reduce wild feel. Pavement will increase speed of bikes and (now) e-bikes, and reduce safety. Adding lights, in particular, will be another step toward the citification of Canmore.

This is not a path. its a road way. This is not a green initiative. A bike road is an over the top, unnecessary contradiction to a pristine river setting.

The town has not been transparent in their dealings with the town, the prospect homeowners have just as much right for input as anyone else, this is a town wide issue, there does not need to be lights in an ER , nor an 18 foot wide pathway
