I believe that chickens and roosters should be allowed to be raised in city limits. People make more disruptive sounds than roosters. And people know better roosters don't.

Everyone no matter where they live should have the right to raise their own chickens or to have one as a housepet. Chickens used in commercial egg and meat production should be treated humanely at all times. PERIOD.

In your own home, if you can keep a dog or a cat, why not any tame animal ?? A bear or a lion, of coarse not. But a harmless chicken? It's your own property, you should have a right !!!

It is encouraging to see how backyard chickens are gaining ground across the nation. Sadly, I live in a narrow-minded community and ours is the last town in the vicinity to still not allow chickens :( I hope this helps!

Everyone should have the right to farm fresh eggs right in their own back yard! It is not fair to the hens who are caged in in humane conditions in battery cages nor do we wish to feed eggs from hens treated so cruelly to our families due to the disease and bacteria which is transferred to the eggs. Not to mention fresh eggs taste so much better.
