I believe they should have a Layby for the buses to stop outside the village Hall at Chineham

The current situation is not only dangerous but unnecessarily holds up traffic. There is plenty of space to make a bus lay-by.

Completely agree we need the bus layby introduced again, this is a dangerous situation that needs urgently correcting, the council should get on with it.

There are too many near misses of cars trying to overtake statioery buses, this lay by must be reinstated in the interests of road safety.

A bus lay-by is urgently needed. The current road lay out is dangerous and frustrating.

Agree a lay-bys is needed for the buses
Very dangerous without and an accident will happen if it is not implemented

the road was safer with the bus stop. I'd like it reinstated.

Definitely think we need a lay-by there. Safety should be paramount.

About time common sense prevailed and the bus stop lay- by reinstated. Whatever were the decision makers thinking when they thought removing this lay-by was a good idea !?

As a Parish Councillor, I have so far received 19 email pleas from my neighbours in Puttenham Road and Warbleton Road (proof available) to reinstate the bus lay-by. Six of them have reported witnessing vehicles overtaking the bus on the wrong side of the road and some have observed narrowly avoided collisions. Who will take responsibility if the pleas are ignored and a fatal accident occurs?

Have seen several cars drive on the wrong side of the road to pass stationary buses, an accident waiting to happen.

It is crazy that Hampshire county council are following their own rules without applying at least a little bit of common sense.
Please reinstate the bus layby which should never have been removed in the first place

I could never understand the reason for getting rid of the lay-by, it is so clearly dangerous. Hopefully common sense will prevail and the bus stop will be moved or the lay-by reinstated.

To the casual observer it would appear that the location of this bus stop without a lay-by was chosen to deliberately endanger the residents of Chineham, both pedestrians and road users. The fact that a vast majority of pedestrians crossing the road at this point are parents with young childen make it a design bordering on criminal negligence.
