If you want "Convenience" maybe you shouldn't live on Martha's Vineyard ?

Please, please rethink this extremely imperfect and unpleasant solution. We are long time Chilmark residents and HATE the idea of one of the loveliest natural spots on the island being desecrated by an imposing man-made structure.

PLEASE STOP! AND STOP HURTING THE BEAUTIFUL NATURE ON OUR ISLAND!

What? No permits! They're inconvenient! Time to save Squibby!!!

Conservation exists because you can't un-ring a bell. Convieniece for a few alone is not important enough to dramatically impact and change an beautiful area of the island that is loved, visited and means so much to so many.

I am a property owner in Chilmark and am saddened by what appears in the matter of the Squibnocket bridge to be a "pals' network"that is trying to achieve a project that will mar the Vineyard landscape, is against the wishes of a majority of those directly affected and, above all, is illegal. Mankind will never come out ahead in a confrontation with Mother Nature. The most beneficial outcome for all stakeholders is to allow climate change and sea level rise continue on their inevitable path. nature take its course. Notwithstanding the 'sanctity' of the wetlands, the fact is that the current access has been moving back into Squibnocket Pond for decades. Let the process continue and make continuous repairs to provide access.

These problems can be mitigated with common sense and cooperation. Steel and concrete rust and crumble. Drop the attitude and cooperate with local conservation organizations, your grandchildren will thank you for it.

What really should be stated here is that this bridge does not solve their access problem --- they have a mile long road that sits at sea level and washes out in storms -- after Sandy, I counted at least seven breaches on that road. The proposed dune ridge solution would have addressed that road as well. A structured dune would be more in keeping with the environment and could be easily repaired. Their bridge will be rendered obsolete after the first big storm washes through the attachment at Money Hill. The remaining cliffs at Lucy Vincent beach are built of the same material.

Selectmen must be responsible to all town residents and visitors and thoroughly consider impacts of what they propose.

I agree that the " solution" arrived at to provide access to Squibnocket Farms is really not acceptable.

Please take more time to research, with our local conservation organizations, a less intrusive and destructive alternative to solve this problem.

Keep Squibnocket as it is ,don't spoil this incredibly beautiful , special place

There are few opportunities to maintain the character & beauty of this amazing island I've called home for 25 plus years... this is one of those rare moments to stop unnecessary development and insure Squibby beach will remain its beautiful self for generations to come...

How can this be so if the land was originally to be conserved in perpetuity? This will forever change the natural view shed!
