I live just off Chestnut Lane and repeatedly see vehicles driving too fast with no regard for the fact that they are approaching a school. Something definitely needs to be done to make drivers more aware.

My daughter attends Chestnut lane Nursery and is starting Chestnut Lane School in September. This is very nessasery to ensure all pupils and parents are safe crossing the busy road.

Please don't let a child die before anything is done about this.
Chestnut Lane is used as a rat run, cars do drive too fast down it, and the safety of children should be put first. However we asked about this over 20 years ago and were told nothing would be done until an accident happened (and so far, none has).
NB In order to reach the zebra crossing in Sycamore Road you have to cross Chestnut Lane so I'm not sure your 2nd paragraph helps your case. Your 3rd para could also do with a bit of a rewrite (sorry).

I live close to the school which my son attended. I have frequently been shocked at the speed that cars drive past the school, which is close to a bend in the road and therefore even more dangerous for children crossing in that area.

Speed is not the issue, as this is restricted by the many parked cars along Chestnut Lane. These cars are a danger as they restrict sightings the children leaving the school premises.

Clearly necessary before some small child gets hurt or killed

Any safety improvements outside school are a necessity. Such an enhancement will also benefit the elderly and other vulnerable residents in a densely populated area full of vehicles. It is time to act.

This is a no-brainer given the presence of a primary school and the low visibility on the road due to narrow lanes, foliage and volume of traffic

Most other schools in South Bucks have traffic calming measures or pedestrian crossings or both in the close vicinity of their main entrance/exit points. I believe it is long overdue that similar measures are installed for the schools that are adjacent to Chestnut Lane.

A number of cars drive too fast along Chestnut Lane and since there is a primary school in the road some kind of traffic calming measures would be very sensible.

This is a must have to prevent a tragic accident in waiting. Providing secure crossings near/in front of schools should be default policy, as it is in other countries, not something we need to lobby for.

Excited children do run from both schools towards and across Chestnut Lane. This is certainly needed.

I wholly support the need to have a safe crossing on Chestnut Lane. This is a really busy and place for lots of children crossing of a range of ages. I have been beeped by a fast vehicle refusing to slow down when crossing to the school!

As a Chestnut Lane parent it is obvious that there is an accident waiting to happen here. This would be a very good idea.
