This is essential. The council have bizarrely ignored this. I've tried multiple times to get speeding measures put in on Chestnut Lane, and have been rebuffed every time.

A pedestrian crossing is a great idea: it should help slow down the traffic, and would perhaps encourage people to walk their children to school and give them a healthy active start to life.

For such a small catchment area, there are too many parents driving their kids to school. Something needs to be done!

It is not only a zebra crossing that's needed, rather it is parking control and testructiins. Many of the parents park on or mount the pavement and it is only a matter of time before a child is injured or worse. Those living in the catchment should not need a car to get to school

Highly dangerous and key crossing for parents and kids into chestnut lane. It should have a zebra crossing. If you don't paint one I will...should have been done in the 70s!

I wholly support this initiative. Half of our walk to school is via a road with no pavement and this last crossing over Chestnut Lane itself is always busy with cars that drive by surprisingly quickly given the danger that they pose.

Generally, the focus in Amersham is on cars and making larger car parks. More time, effort and money should be spent on providing viable alternatives to reduce the need for cars, starting with safe road crossings at critical locations such as outside schools. Later, thought should be given to moving towards better facilities for bicycles including less symbolic parking facilities and dedicated cycle routes.
