Chico was undoubtedly the best known and most loved DC United fan out there. Everyone who ever set foot in Lot 8 probably were either greeted by or shared libations with him. He was just one of those people that everyone loved and DCU couldn't have asked for a better ambassador.

Chico was the first person I met when I attended my first DC United game alone. He was the most genuine and authentic person and fan I have ever met. I think he sought out the new faces that showed up to Barra Brava tailgates and made a point to make them feel as welcome as he could. It's not surprising, though still very sad, that Chico's heart, which was opened to everyone and committed to DC United, was too small to hold all of his love and ended up failing him.

i didn't have the honor of meeting Chico but everyone remembers and talks about this man in the highest of regards. This would be a great step for those who knew him.
