Chickens for All in Redlands

I support backyard chickens.

We had chickens once in another town. We enjoyed them. Should not be a problem to ease the restrictions. No roosters, though. Too noisy.

I am in favor of backyard chickens in Redlands.

Change the law to allow chickens.

We love chickens and support residents of Redlands having the right to keep backyard hens. It would help the community become more sustainable and humane.

I have many close friends in CO with backyard chickens in many towns in and around Boulder, CO (I recently moved here from there). I therefore have much experience with these quiet, docile, and productive animals. They are not noisy, dirty, or a nuisance (in fact they are less often cited than dogs). I can think of no reason why a few well cared for chickens (no roosters) should be forbidden. I ask you to consider changing this outdated law to keep with the times and the needs of current citizens.

I support responsible keeping of hens inside the city limits. This would include chickens, ducks, and smaller fowl, such as quail.

Chickens are valuable neighbors. They provide nourishing eggs and compostable waste. Please allow Redlands residents to have chickens.

I loved having a few chickens when my kids were little. The eggs helped out with the grocery bill, it was educational, they ate the bugs, and were friendly fun pets. I can't imagine why it's not legal to own a couple.

Definitely should be allowed for families to have chickens in their yard. Clean, not noisy, eat table scraps, etc - a win win all around!

A few backyard chickens should be encouraged, not discouraged. Code enforcement seems so arbitrary. Ridiculous to make a family part with their pets and source of healthy eggs.

With the rising public interest in nutrition and food quality, Redlands should be proactive in allowing its citizens to create and maintain organic home gardens. This includes raising chickens to control pests and provide fresh eggs. Please update the city zoning rules to permit homeowners to raisie chickens.
